PARS had a “float” in the Oriental Croaker Fest on July 4th this year. Many in the crowd recognized the PARS banners on the float for ham radio. One ham in the crowd even shouted out his call sign. One mother could be heard to correct her son that this radio wasn’t a commercial radio station and went on to tell him what ham radio was. Our group was well received. There were many more people at the event than it seemed in recent past. Below is a photo of the entry. No other photos were taken as the photog and driver were busy working the crowd and pitching candy to the youngsters- “The good stuff.” as was voiced by more than one recipient.
