Members of the club interested and available met at Bill KR4LO’s workshop Saturday to work with him and Randy K4WRD to build their own fox hunt tape-Measure Yagi directional antennas under their tutelage. Participants went home with their own antenna tested and complete, or nearly so, in anticipation of the upcoming fox hunt. Much thanks go to Bill for hosting the event, to Randy for his patient instruction in the three and a half hours working on the antennas, and to both for providing venue, materials, supplies, diagnostics, skills, and encouragement. It’s still not too late to build your own antenna for the soon-to-be-decided date of the first club fox hunt wherein a radio source will be hidden in and around Oriental and the hounds with their new antennas will hunt the source to its lair. A club sponsored meal will follow the hunt. The following are some pictures of the event.
