GMRS SUPPORT FOR THE ANTENNA RELIEF BILL
From Bill Michne WM3X:
ARRL has expanded its PASS THE BILL campaign to encourage GMRS
repeater owners to also join in sending petitions to Congress for relief
from antenna rules established by HOA and POA groups. ARRL has prepared
an on-line petition (similar to the one for amateurs) which produces
letters from GMRS license holders that will be delivered to the
appropriate US House and US Senate members. Information can be found at
https://send-a-letter.org/gmrs/. Information on the campaign can be
found at https://www.arrl.org/home .

PAMLICO EMERGENCY/COMMUNICATIONS NET
There were 18 WinLink check-ins and 16 voice check-ins for the Pamlico
Emergency/Communications Net last Wednesday, November 12th. There were 3
check-ins via EchoLink (KO4MHM-Brevard, K2ONN-Bermuda Run,
K2TNO-Greensboro). Charlie K04YWM, picked up the WinLink check-ins but
is still having equipment problems. Mike, K4NLC, was aware and called
the net. Members reported doing some interesting radio stuff and Bill
KR4LO fixed his old truck.

BIT BUCKET
–Wayne KO4OJC and Bill KR4LO have been working to reduce the crackle
and improve receive audio on the KO4OJC YSF repeater. Last week they
replaced one of the “cans” of the diplexer. It seems to have taken care
of both. Send your comments/reports to either Wayne or Bill.
–If you do C4FM, join us tonight, Monday, at 7:30 local on the K04OJC
repeater. This is an ongoing trial to determine interest for an ongoing
C4FM net. Those outside our listening area can join us in KO4OJC-room 3.
–Mark K1MAP turned on three beacons located at his place out on Cedar
Island last week. Listen for their CW signals on 144.282 MHz, 222.055
MHz and 432.305 MHz. If you hear them please let Mark know at
map92map@gmail.com.

SOLAR NUMBERS TODAY
NOAA reports that solar activity was moderate during the 24 hour period
ending yesterday at 4 p.m. local. The Space Weather Prediction Center
expects solar activity to be moderate today, likely to be low Tuesday
and very low on Wednesday.

There are 5 numbered sunspot regions on the Sun facing Earth this
morning. There were 7 last Monday, 3 the Monday before.

Sunday’s noon Solar Flux Index (SFI) observation at Penticton was 132,
last Sunday’s was 176. The index is predicted to measure 125 today, 120
Tuesday and 115 on Wednesday. The more important SFI 90 day trailing
average was 153 yesterday. It was 151 last Sunday.

The geomagnetic field was unsettled yesterday. The SWPC expects the
field be unsettled to minor storm level today, quiet to active Tuesday
and then back to quiet to unsettled on Wednesday. The planetary K-index
at 7 a.m. this morning was 1.33 indicating quiet conditions.

For now, look for fair conditions during the day on 80 to 40 Meters,
good at night; good day and night on 30 to 15; fair day, poor at night
on 12 and 10. As always, we recommend you go to
https://www.n4prs.org/looking-up/ for the latest observations.
