NET NEWS
Eight folks participated in the Monday night Pamlico C4FM round-table on
August 10th hosted by KO4OJC. Besides Wayne they included KR4LO, KR4ABZ,
AI4WL, KR4COD from Stacy, K1AUG, AC2GR and KM4PA from Brevard.
The talk was mostly about today’s thunderstorm and widespread lightning.
For local users via RF, the repeater’s on 145.390MHz. Remote users can
join via the Wires-X room, for now it’s still “KO4OJC-Room 3” (ID 64163).
We recorded 17 WinLink and 23 voice check-ins for the Pamlico
Communications Net last Wednesday, August 12th. Buck, AA4SN ran the net.
As requested, most used a Field Situation Report for their WinLink
check-in. EchoLink check-ins included Pete AG7C in NJ, Paul KM4PA in
Brevard, Lor from Grayson County VA and Bill K2TNO Greensboro. Bruce,
K4ONC operating from Station 19, advised practice with other forms is
coming. Mike, AB1OU, encouraged practice with attaching photos, e.g.of
downed power lines, to the SITREP. Many other good comments and
suggestions. After Monday’s (today) NWS Hurricane awareness
presentation, Bruce will talk about GMRS. He asked those that can, be
available to demo the GMRS repeater between 1830-1900 hours.
FOR THIS WEDNESDAY’S NET THE WINLINK CHECK-IN AUG 19TH will be via the
ICS 213 Form, General Message. Your task is two fold:
#1 – Send a completed ICS-213 Form to the N4PRS Pamlico Communications
Net Control Operator; listing your call sign, name and location in the
message area, and;
#2 – Below the above requested information, tell us what is at the
following GPS location: 34*14’11.53”N 77*57’16.25”W
Please send your Winlink message prior to 6pm on Wednesday the 19th.
Have fun!

demo on Monday, gas leaks, mowin’ the our grass and leaky windshields.
