PAMLICO COMMUNICATIONS NET (WEDNESDAY NIGHT NET)
For the Pamlico Communications Net this Wednesday, the Winlink check-in
will be via the “Radio Net Log” form. This form can be found in the
“Templates & Forms Manager”, under “Standard Forms”, then under “General
Forms” look about half way down the list to “Radio Net Log”.

Complete this log using the Incident Name of “Hurricane Exercise” with
your name and position of “Net Control”. The date will be “Sept 23,
2026” and time of “0900 to 1200” local.

Fill in some of the log sheet with various operators (call signs) who
have reported in. Be creative. Finally, at the bottom of the page, under
“Sender’s Comments”, list your name, callsign, location and how you plan
on sending in the form ie VARA HF, Pactor or Telnet.

If possible, send in your form via RF but Telnet is acceptable.

For the training portion of the Net, we will discuss this form and the
others that we have used in the recent past.

Have a great start to your week and hope to hear you on the Net this
Wednesday the 23rd at 1930 hours.

NET NEWS
We had eight folks folks for the Monday night Wayne’s World C4FM
round-table on Sep 14th. Besides Wayne KO4OJC, they included KM4PA,
KR4LO, KR4CYB, AC2GR, AI4WL, K1AUG and KR4COD. Paul was back in Brevard
and came in via Wires-X. Lots of talk about antennas, particularly Off
Center Fed antennas and OCF feed point location. With an OCF, users are
often able to operate on more bands than expected. Views on lightning
and the value of whole house surge protection were also shared. The net
closed around 8:25pm. For local users via RF, the repeater’s on
145.390MHz. Remote users can join via the Wires-X room, it’s still
“KO4OJC-Room 3” (ID 64163).

On Wednesday, Bruce, K4ONC, operated from Station 19. We recorded 16
WinLink PAMLICO COMMUNICATIONS NET check-ins. Most sent theirs via a
Local Weather Report and via RF as requested. Twenty operators checked
to the voice net and of those, K2ONN, KM4PA, and K2TNO via EchoLink. Our
most recent traveling ham, Paul KM4PA, checked-in from Portland, OR.
After switching to the GMRS repeater, Bruce polled the local check-ins
Ten responded, 2 others heard the call.

Bruce K4ONC, Wayne KO4OJC and Jim AI4WL joined Charlie WA4GSI on
Thursday, Sep 17th for the DOWNEAST/PAMLICO COUNTY 6M Net. Charlie is
hoping for good success with his new/old roof mounted tri-band yagi. It
had been blessed that morning by Father Rick, NN2S, in the presence of
Charlie, several other local hams, young Oakley and the next door
neighbor viewing it all from his upstairs porch. Make that OCF work on
6M; join us Thursdays at 8pm on 50.200 MHz for a brief chin-wag.
